Medicare and Veterans Affairs Options
You can have both Medicare and Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits, but Medicare and VA benefits do not work together. Medicare does not pay for any care that you receive at a VA facility, vice versa the VA in most cases does pay for services outside a VA approved facility.
After Veterans Enroll In Medicare
Once enrolled into Medicare, you do have a number of plan options to consider which include Supplemental (also known as Medi-Gap), Advantage and part D plans. Some of these plan options will have additional benefits that traditional Medicare will not cover. For instance, gym membership, vision, dental, etc… We highly recommend that you contact a licensed Medicare professional who can walk you through the process and complete a personal assessment that will help you make a well-informed decision.
